For a moment I could of sworn that I
Had it, had it, in line
There’s too much on my mind
For a minute I faded I made it
My own desire
There’s too much on mind
So make me forget
Make me forget x7
I’ve been going on since you gave me that
Picture frames in a paper bag
Sound so good when you said my name
Seven years on I can’t say it back
Lights, falling
Shoestrings in my carpet, that tie me back to you
Make me forget
How the rain keeps falling on my head
And I said
Make me forget
How the world won’t let me catch my breath
Catch my breath
For a moment I could of sworn that I
Had it, had it, in line
There’s too much on my mind
For a minute I faded I made it
My own desire
There’s too much on mind
Like so many others, this came like a bolt out of the blue and, even though it's well before payday, I had to have this astonishing album on vinyl to prove it exists. The feel of the tunes makes me feel like the Impressions do, Curtis Mayfield, the big spaces and instinctive horns and stuff drifting in and out. Great grooves and I can see lots of ghosts nodding along to this with big smiles on their faces. At last! Anthony Cottrell
Lost track of these guys for a couple years, then saw the Tiny Desk concert come up in my feed. I've had the album on loop on Spotify since Friday.
This song in particular has been stuck in my head all afternoon. quiksilv26
